This actually is a function of two things: First, divorce decrees will sometimes provide that alimony ends should the person receiving it begin living with someone. Second, some state laws provide that marriage ends alimony obligations.
And what happens if you get divorced in one state but then move to another? Will the new state apply the law of the old state?
